A returning grantee for the third year straight, farmer Pat Fan has learned a lot. As a production farm with limited manpower, one of Pat Fan’s biggest priorities for new methods is efficiency. Over the years, he has realised that even if some of the processes are time-consuming, the results are worth it. Take the application of the BFA solution – a multi-step process requiring various inputs, but the product is nutrient dense compost with a high fungal to bacterial ratio that his crops love.

    Cabbages, part of the Brassicaceae family, are notorious for attracting pests. Past crops have reflected this, but this year the condition has improved remarkably. Leaves are sturdier with little-to-no insect bites, thanks to a higher frequency application of bio-active plant nutrient ferments.
