1% Pledge

Zero Foodprint partners
commit 1% of sales
to get the next regenerative
farming practice
onto the next acre.

None of us can solve climate change on our own, but by collecting tiny contributions into grants for regenerative agriculture, we can restore carbon in the soil, where it belongs.

The pledge is easy to implement. It requires no material change to your operations, leveraging your existing platform to promote the movement and raise funds from diners.

Collective Action

Can Restore Our Climate

A win-win-win for all.

Pledges collected contributes to the Restore Fund, which helps finance smallholder farmers in:

  • disseminating knowledge on agro-ecological practices;

  • build soil microorganism,

  • increase local biodiversity,

  • improve resiliency,

  • grow better food, and

  • sequester bad carbon from the atmosphere to combat climate change.

How does it work?

It’s as simple as adding a 1% surcharge to the bill.

  1. Add a 1% opt-out surcharge to each customer’s bill, or increase your menu’s selling price by 1%.

  2. No cost to the business and only a few dollars (or cents) per meal to customers.

  3. No change to the way you currently do business.

Agriculture and
Food & Beverage are
two sectors most
reliant on nature.

Our industry plays a crucial role in creating the tipping point for changing the food system.

The 1% Pledge Program is designed to fit any business model. You can mitigate your impact and empower your customers to invest in climate action with every purchase from day one.

The future of
your business
depends on
the health
of our planet.

Samantha De Mello - Hyatt Hong Kong ESG Cluster Manager

“Having our Hong Kong hotel restaurants
commit to the 1% pledge was a no brainer. The
program truly brings together key
stakeholders in the food ecosystem - diners,
operators and farmers, to rebuild and
regenerate critical soils; all with minimal
additional effort from our operational teams.
We are proud to be partners
of Zero Foodprint Asia.”
