After six months of implementation, AuLaw’s farmers have given positive feedback about the newly adopted practices, including improved water absorption and soil compaction. Nutrient amendments are still proving challenging due to the complexity of nutritional science, but our farmers have a can-do attitude and continue to experiment.
AuLaw’s farm has the largest nutrient amendment set up of our Restore grantees, including space to make the necessary foundation materials such as fish hydrolysate, coffee, kelp, and nut ferments. The station is strategically located in a well-ventilated area (strong smells can be associated with the process!), covered with black cloths to protect it from weather and bugs.
Check out other work they have been doing!
