Our Restore Farms have taken the rough with the smooth this year. While the cooler weather this winter has benefited our grantee farmers, the scarcity of mulch has proved challenging. At Organic Farmula, where the supplies of mushroom substrate and wood chips are insufficient, they turn to dried cut grass and companion planting to ensure no soil is left bare. As well as the rigorous implementation of other practices, crops continued to show resilience and excellent health.
